Deconstructing faith can be confusing, messy, and exhausting. If we're not careful, the work can leave immense structural damage in its wake. And yet, sometimes our disappointment and disillusionment demand that we gut these structures. In an era when razing is often easier than rebuilding, this Formation Circle sits with the harder question: is it worth rebuilding? And if so, how?
Over eight weeks, we'll wrestle with these questions through our own stories and rediscover the beauty of faith, with Jesus and with one another. Not to recover what we lost, but to build something better: a faith resurrected—rooted and grounded in love, in Jesus. Whether you have deconstructed, are in the midst of deconstruction, or just have questions about this movement in the faith, come curious.
Have you ever wanted to read the Bible but felt intimidated—stuck wondering, What does this passage actually mean? Whether you prefer bite-sized pieces or devouring whole passages, this group is an invitation to come as you are.
Each week, we'll explore a different tool for reading and understanding Scripture, practicing together as we journey through Philippians. Along the way, we'll ask why reading Scripture matters in the first place—not just to learn what the Bible says, but to discover who God is and who we are in light of his Character. Come once, come often, come curious. Let's read, learn, and discover together.
What does God's voice sound like? Can we hear him today? Each week, we'll slow down, quiet our hearts, and create space to listen for the gentle whisper of the Lord.
Over eight weeks, we'll explore the creative practice of Visio Divina: listening for the Lord in the stillness of art, Scripture, prayer, silence, journaling. This will help us to become more attentive to God's presence and more familiar with the ways he speaks. Not simply to make something beautiful, but to make room to notice what God may be revealing. To listen. To recognize his voice. To abide more intimately with him in the rhythms of everyday life.
What do the stories of people shaped by immigration policy, particularly along the U.S.-Mexico border, have to teach us about suffering, community, and human dignity? Through intimate portraits of individuals in border communities, we'll reflect on where God is present in the places of suffering and uncertainty.
As we read, pray, and reflect, we'll consider how faith calls us to compassion, hospitality, solidarity, and care for the vulnerable. Together, we'll ask how hope survives harsh circumstances and how we might become people who listen deeply, bear one another's burdens, and see the image of God in every person.
